'Gangs Of Wasseypur' is India's answer to 'Quintin Tarantino's' genre of filmmaking but apart from the genre its completely original in its script and narrative. An out and out goon movie which is real, glamorous and extremely captivating......
Its one of those movie which you can watch a couple of times not only to let it grow on you but also to get the scheme of things happening in the narrative.
The script is absolutely original a revenge story against the backdrop of 'Coal Mafia' set in a place called 'Wasseypur' a small town near Dhanbad....The story is well researched and which starts from the 1940's and continues till today...The intricacies of how and why the political-goons nexus have flourished the in the sector since independence has been extremely well researched and mixed extremely well in the overall story which is in its Core is a revenge story among two sects of people living in 'Wasseypur'....The narration of the story however is quite complex with multiple characters which will ensure that you might want to watch the movie once again w/o being bored.......The sets have been so real that you wonder whether the movie has been completely shot is real locations....The characterization has been nothing less than 'Impeccable' right from a 'dwarf' in the jail to the role of 'Sardar Khan'.....The background score along with the music has been outstanding and ensures that it mixes reality and glamour well making it a delightful watch..
The performances of each small character has been stupendous and that's an outcome of extremely good casting, it just makes it evident that along with the script the team has really worked hard on getting the characterization right.....However among those who will prominently stick in your mind are 'Manoj Bajpayee' who has got into the skin of this goon character which is 'inhuman' and a big 'womanizer', 'Jaideep Ahlawat' has been a revelation and very impressive in his role of 'Shahid Khan' the original goon from where it all starts most interestingly he has been able to make in impression without much of dialogues, 'Tigmanshu Dhulia' in his role of politician 'Ranadhir Singh' has shown why he is an outstanding director because he is an excellent actor and 'Richa Chaddha' has been once again very impressive and plays the role of 'Manoj Bajpayee's' wife with impeccable perfection someone who is a 'Goon' in her heart as well but still a loving mother....Apart from them 'Piyush Mishra', 'Nazimuddin Siddiqui' & 'Jameel Khan' are as usual extremely good in their roles...in a nutshell 'Kashyap' has ensured outstanding performance from each and every character even from one 'Harish Khanna' as 'Yadav Ji' who has just three scenes in the movie......

Now the most interesting revelation about the movie is that it has no climax as it will continue in its next part and you will have to wait till the next edition of 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' to see how the revenge continues.....

Thats why i say its a true Indian Version of 'Tarantino's' collection .....

I have intentionally not revealed anything about the story as i want you to go and watch the movie...

In a nutshell its just 'Hats Off' to 'Anurag Kashyap' with 'GOW' he has established himself as the best director and producer in the country and someone who will be remembered as one of the best in the world....

This is a movie which can be presented in 'Oscars'.....

Just go and watch and live the experience......
