3 idiots entertaining but not the best from raju bhai...
This is probably the first time when i did not enjoy Amir Khan in a movie...Not because he was not good in his role...But because he was to artificial in his acting....Amir who is known for his natural acting...someone who blends with a role....was rolling his eyes up and down right from the start because he had to enact that he was an extraordinary guy....that is definitely not the mark of a world class actor which he is...Anyways keeping aside Amir i believe the movie is extremely entertaining but lacks the class, the insight, high emotional connect, flow which Raju hirani's earlier movies had...especially some of the songs, scenes were too much of a stretch...especially the 'coming out of coma' sequence lacked believability.....the whole movie revolving around this wonder boy who is constantly giving great gyaan is good but not as touching and real as Munna Bhai was...After all in life not everybody knows whats his passion and not everybody succeeds in doing what he really likes to do inspite of putting the best of efforts....there is also a school of thought that 'Give complete justice to what u r doing...success will come to u....'Not every student with consistently poor grades manages to impress the recruiters not because of his knowledge otherwise but because of his philosophy on life....So overall the script of 'Chetan Bhagat' which was a simple story of an IITian....was tweaked around quite a bit to make it filmy and therefore unbelievable....The songs seemed like a forcefit could have been done away with.....
Inspite of all these lacunae the movie was an out and out entertainer and the credit goes to Raju Hirani and team....Inspite of the fact that Amir was given all the attention....the best scene in the movie belonged to Madhavan (the dialogue between him and parikshit shahni)...The biggest credit should also go to the PR and Marketing team of 3 Idiots (therefore to Amir...who apparently added a lot of value to the marketing strategy of the movie) that the movie got lot of hype and coupled with decent quality finally the product got better results than what it deserved....
I know Amir is a great great guy but as a true admirer and therefore well wisher my only advice to Amir will be to stop believing that he is a 'Guru' and start doing what he does best i.e. Acting....
Chetan Bhagat has made loads of money thanks to the fact that movie's marketing & PR helped his book's sales and of course he got some money even from the producers as it was originally inspired from his book.....While the fact is that the story has been substantially rewritten and hardly has any commonality with the book....So he should enjoy the money and stop being greedy.....
