Review Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' is a biopic of India's best athlete till date i.e. Milkha Singh. As a film enthusiast i was a bit skeptical about the film as i was not sure how will the team of BMB would have treated the story , will it be like a documentary, will ROMP (rakesh om prakash mehra) pull it off after his extremely boring experiment with Delhi6, will Farhan Akhtar with his limited acting abilities pull it off and most importantly how will the first story of Prasoon Joshi shape up....
Well the fact that its a documentary about Milkha Singh is true but the outcome is outstanding.
While i came out of the hall i had only one thing to say ROMP has done it yet again , may not be to the extent what he had done with RDB (Rang De Basanti) but definitely to a large extent, Prasoon with his storytelling and ROMP with his direction have delivered to the brief of connecting hearts and Inspiring Indians......
The movie although a biopic never goes off the radar, it doesn't follow a documentary type pattern of storytelling rather it sticks to the Sikhs passion about running and keeps going back to bring alive relevant details of his past connecting with his present.
It successfully touches your heart and in some cases brings you close to tears as it deals into Milkha's family being killed at Pakistan, his initial days at the refugee camp, his sister's life etc....Farhan has done a marvellous job in fitting into the role, as reported by media he has worked extremely hard in shaping up physically and mentally for the role and indeed at no point he leaves you with any doubt about his fitment with the role, apart from Farhan some of the other co-actors who have performed equally well to do justice the film and the story are Divya Dutta as Farhan's sister who is excellent and she indeed makes you cry in few scenes, the Kid who performed the role of Milkha Singh as a kid is equally good, Pavan Malhotra as usual is superlative as Milkha's Coach and even Yograj Singh (Yuvraj Singhs Father) as Milkha Singh's National Coach has also done fairly well.
Overall full marks to ROMP & Prasoon Joshi who did deliver to brief extremely well by connecting to the hearts of Billion Indians thru an extremely well told story of Courage, Conviction & Hard Work of the Flying Sikh.....
If you haven't watched it yet then you are indeed missing something....
