Review 'Table No. 21'

The first weekend of 2013 was eagerly awaited for movie goers like me who were waiting to see the new releases on the first weekend of the new year. Its kind of a unique experience and so was a Table No. 21 one of the two Bollywood releases in the first week.

Directed by Aditya Dutt the movie is yet another attempt by Talented 'Rajeev Khandelwal' to resurrect his career in Bollywood. Yet again he had been very consistent in his choice of films as this one too is a 'Hatke' movie....Its 2013 start by ERos and possibly should be the first movie which should give some credibility to new director 'Aditya Datt'.
Table no. 21 is a thriller which revolves around this couple played by Rajeev Khandelwal and newcomer Tena Desai who have won a contest and have come to Fiji Islands for a holiday. As a part of the holiday package they are invited for an exotic lunch on their anniversary day, where they meet the resorts (where they are living) owner played by Paresh Rawal who invites them for participating in a game called 'Table No. 21' in which they will be asked 8 questions and if they manage to answer all the questions correctly and complete tasks assigned with it they could win 21 crores...Lured by the huge money involved the couple decides to participate and what happens after that is what makes the rest of the story....

Overall Table No. 21 brings on a unique story with a good twist at the end which is not just unique but highly socially relevant. The movie has been shot well in Fiji and looks pretty exotic. The lead stars Rajeev & Tena look hot and both have played their parts well. Paresh Rawal as usual plays his part well...The music is good and very hummable.....Overall a good watch.....

Few areas where it failed to make the movie great is lack of reality in the character played by Rajeev who somewhere fails to bring on his 'negative side' which is an integral part of the story....Had he managed that the movie would have been emotionally more hard hitting and would have created a greater impact on audience. But still its a very good effort in a unique story telling and manages to keep the thrill right till the end.

If not yet seen the movie and wasted you money on 'Rajdhani Express' go watch 'Table No. 21'
