Review of 'Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara'

What a visual treat is definitely something you will think after u have seen ZNMD. The movie is definitely a great marketing effort for Spain as a tourism destination and hopefully Spain will get some trialists because of this movie. However for the movie per say one definitely cnt say that 'its a sheer treat to watch'. For the second time post 'Game' Excel Entertainment seems to be losing its grip on content...something which always had been their main forte...For Zoya Akhtar after a good start (with Luck By Chance which was commercially unsuccessful but the movie was not bad)its a very poor succession...one was expecting that she will present something better than her first movie, ZNMD unfortunately is too niche in its subject, its treatment of characters and overall sensibilities....something that will appeal only to the top 1% of movie going audience....to be fair few scenes in the movie are quite emotional or are genuinely funny but problem is they are too few.....there is nothing that makes you kind of connects you with the movie and is looks too slow and stretched......In a nutshell the movie looks like lacking depth which normally you find in excel entertainment's production......on top of that Zoya seems to be too 'urbane' in her sensibilities which appeals only to few people who may be living in Metro's, who can afford to go to Spain whenever they want and for whom poor English accent is funny on which you can crack a joke.....most importantly even if its sensibilities are urban and metro oriented, it would have been allright had the movie presented some depth....one cannot present something as a movie which is more of photographic collage.....may be farhan had been a good brother or may be their consistency of picking and sticking to good content is lost in recent times...overall very average movie.....but as a critic extremely disppointed with Excel Entertainment and Zoya Akhtar....
