Peepli Live....Inception & Aisha....

Last weekend was quite eventful as i managed to watch 3 movies....

Inception was truly a delight to watch as the script is so complex that you wonder as you watch it , how did the writer write the script....the movie belongs to Christopher Nolan who is a master when it comes to making intriguing movies...No wonder movies like Dark Knight/Memento has come out of him.....however the movie would not have been complete if the writer/director 'Nolan's' visualisation would not have been captured so well by Wally Pfister and the entire special effects team....Overall inception is just an out and out intriguing movie that you would like to watch again and again and yet feel intrigued....in one word its a masterpiece of creativity and visualisation....

From Inception let me now jump to our indigenous creations....Peepli Live by Amir Khan and Aisha....
About Aisha i found it to be a sweet entertaining short story and pretty well made...The movie according to me was not a very hard movie to make and that's why i would say that the director did a good job of directing a bunch of decent artists and getting good work out of them....Sonam Kapoor fit in very well in the role and so can be said about almost the entire cast...The movie was fun in the first half and dragging in the 2nd half...while the story was very predictable...its still fun to watch...girls definitely would have loved Aisha for the style quotient....

Now coming to 'Peepli Live'...Every time Amir Khan production comes out with a movie India awaits....For this kudos to Amir who definitely attempts at making good/commercial yet experimental stuff and still manages to get audiences to the theatres to watch it....same about Peepli Live.....The movie is a good take on the 'insensitive TV professionals & the politicians'.....however having said that the script lacked 'depth' and hence never touches your heart or makes you think....The movie when it starts with the 'Indian Ocean' song in the background, intrigues you for a few moments but after that it all becomes very predictable and common....The movie according to me goes to Amir Khan as he managed to play the role of great marketer and got the movie and its crew huge attention for the good of the movie.....ironically regional movies like 'Gabricha Paus' which in terms of content/depth/direction is much much better than 'Peepli Live'never manages to get the attention as they do not have the platform that 'Amir' brings....

At the end of it my take is that the best of 'Bollywood' is still far far behind the best of 'Hollywood' in terms of content/visualisation and direction....So the week goes to Inception for myself....
